Important information

Are tickets included?

The Sanctuary of Fatima and both shepherd houses are free and don´t need ticket.

What is your cancellation policy?

We are cool but not that cool. The paid amount can be refunded at 100% if the customer wants to cancel up to 24 hours before the tour. If a cancellation is made less than the 24h period it is non-refundable. In case of no show / cancellation in the same day, the amount will not be refunded.

I have one (or more) infants. Can we still do the tour?

There is absolutely no problem! Up to 3 years old it’s completely free and between 4 to 12 they have a 20% discount. Logistically speaking we just have to know in advance to make the necessary arrangements.

Your guides seem very cool and everything but are they qualified?

The question is quite relevant and makes sense. Our guides have academic studies and most of them are Tourism graduates with full certifications to make our tours. In addition to technical skills, they were hand-picked by their charismatic personality, passion for the country and its history and excellent communication skills. We can be cool, but we will never neglect or be sloppy when it comes to discipline and professionalism.

I/my relative(s) have a physical disability or walking limitation. Can we avoid rides that have extensive hiking paths?

At the Sanctuary all the area is flat. The level of difficulty is EASY

Is there a minimum and maximum number of passengers?

Yes, we have a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8 for our regular van tours. Sometimes more than one van can go to the same destination, but our goal is to keep small groups for greater closeness and interaction with the client. In exceptional cases we may operate with a 16/18 seat minibus during high season peaks.

Is there Hotel pick-up and drop-off?

No. If Pick-up option is selected we can provide Hotel Pick-up. If not selected the meeting point is at Praça da Figueira (at 08:00, in front of D. João I statue). The drop-off is always at Marquês de Pombal Square. In exceptional cases (determined by authorities) the meeting point and the drop-off will be done in other locations.

Highlights

More information

The phenomenon of Fatima is much greater than the settlement of Fatima and Portugal, and over the years its world dimension has undoubtedly been affirmed and not only for believers. What we propose is to begin with a visit to the Houses of the Shepherds, two houses separated by a few hundred meters in the village of Aljustrel, 4 kilometers away from the sanctuary. These were the residences of Lúcia dos Santos and Jacinta and Francisco Marto, the three shepherds who contemplated the apparitions of the virgin in 1917. In these spaces, we can find a faithful recap of scenes from other times such as ancient objects, family photos, clothes, kitchen utensils, furniture, among others. We then proceed to the Sanctuary, where there is much to see, namely, the Chapel of Apparitions, which marks the most precise place where the virgin's apparitions to the three shepherds took place. The Sanctuary has become an impressive place of faith and it is virtually impossible to remain indifferent to the energy that hangs in the air, even for non-believers. In addition to the aforementioned chapel, there are two basilicas: Our Lady of the Rosary, built in stone and marble in neo baroque style, and which has inside the tombs of the three little shepherds, and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, much more recent (2007), being one of the largest Catholic temples in the world in capacity. Once you have arrived at the Shrine, what we propose is a free visit to the religious complex where you can attend Mass and visit the different religious buildings at the sanctuary. A unique tour about faith and history of one of Portugal's most famous sites. An unmissable pilgrimage!
